Irvington Arms was one of the featured sponsors at the International Defense Pistol Association (IDPA) California Cup for 2007. This was California’s state championship held July 7 and 8, 2007 utilizing defensive pistol handling and shooting techniques to properly negotiate the Courses of Fire. Kevin Chu represented Irvington Arms and placed 4th in his division and Brett Nelson won the Kimber Ultra Carry II we donated from the prize table. Congratulations to both!
Additionally, we were a match contributor for the Golden Bullet Championships, a sectional Area 2 (level 3) United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) match, held at the Richmond Rod & Gun Club the weekend of July 27-29, 2007. The match consisted of 200+ rounds spread over 8 stages plus a Chronograph check stage that brought over 160 shooters from all over the United States to compete for titles ranging from Overall Champion to Class and Sectional winners for each division and class.
Jenny (Open Class) and Frank (Limited Class) represented Irvington Arms at the 2007 Golden Bullet Championships and both finished in First Place for their respective divisions within their class. Special thanks go to the Richmond Rod & Gun Club for hosting the event and allowing Irvington Arms the opportunity to contribute to this annual sectional match held in California.
There are USPSA "practice" and introduction sessions every Saturday at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club from 9:30 - 1:30 (new shooters welcome at orientation at 9:30 am, just bring what you have and be prepared to have a good time). Necessary equipment includes only: I reliably functional pistol (preferably 9mm or larger) a quality inner/outer belt system (we recommend and stock CR Speed Belt systems, a holster that covers the trigger guard, magazine holders (ideally 4 or more) and enough magazines and ammunition to have fun for the day. Local matches are held there the first and third Sunday of each month. For more information, contact us or visit the Richmond Hot Shots site via the links page.
Irvington Arms will be the preferred transfer dealer and sponsor at the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) match held on August 25 & 26, 2007 at the Richmond Rod & Gun Club. An inexpensive entry fee and multiple Glocks on the prize table make this an event well worth shooting.
We are also a Match Sponsor for the Bay Bridge Charity Classic (held on October 27, 2007 at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club) benefitting the Toys for Tots program. Our Kimber donation is only one of many pistols and products available on the prize table contributed by many companies and individuals. Go to their sponsorship page for a list of all of the sponsors and to get an application for the match. Register, come out, support the kids, and shoot the match for a fun-filled day that benefits a great cause.
Once again, Jenny (Open Class) and Frank (Limited) represented Irvington Arms at the Charity Classic with Jenny taking both Hi-Lady and a Class win with her Irvington Arms custom built Open gun.
